Constellations was massive! Over 120 authors in more than fifty events in over 25 venues, stretching up and down the state. The biggest thanks to everyone who put in the work to make that incredible week of community-run events happen, including audiences who booked out most of the gigs, bought tons of books, and made all the effort worth while. We even raised enough in donations to pay all participating authors ASA rates, and did quite a bit of consciousness-raising about fair pay along the way.
Here is an excellent article on the ABC about the festival and our organising process. Can confirm, am exhausted.
My personal thanks to Writers SA, Goodwood Books, and Vitalstatistix for supporting the events I was a part of.
I didn’t take many photos at all – much too busy! but here are some borrowed ones:

Now for some well-earned rest, recovery and reading time.

Have been doing a little promotion around the release of A Concise Compendium of Wonder. This gorgeous book was launched in the Wandering Hall of Possibility a couple of weeks ago.
Slingsby’s sold-out season as part of the Adelaide Festival closes this weekend. I went to and loved all three shows – such different aesthetic worlds! It has been a very special project to be a part of, and I’m so pleased that these unique stories will have their own lives in the hands & imaginations of readers.

The title of this post is c/- The Advertiser, who published an oped back in January about what they were still calling a “guerrilla festival” – the writer compared us to Che Guevara.
No further comment from me.
